Carol Minger, L.Ac.
Hello, I’m Carol. I grew up in a small town on a big lake in Northern Michigan. I was born to a wonderful nurse as a mother, and a civil engineer father, which bestowed me with a strong interest in health, medicine and analytical thinking. This led me to pursue studies in Biopsychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Michigan, where most of my peers were pre-med. Although I seriously considered following the same path, it didn’t quite sit right with me. While I was a sophomore there, my 15 year old brother passed away, and that forever changed my outlook on life. After that, my only goal was to be happy and healthy, and that led to years of travel, volunteering at a holistic retreat center, 4 years skiing in Utah, and constantly exploring self-care techniques. I delved into yoga; meditation, Kundalini yoga; nutrition; herbs; chiropractic; lots of time in nature; ayurveda; naturopathy; psychology; craniosacral therapy; and countless books. When this path eventually led to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, I knew I had found my calling. A powerful, yet gentle, system of medicine that seeks out the root cause of a person’s condition, and aims to restore optimal health and balance.
Through a combination of acupuncture, herbs, and diet therapy, this medicine has personally helped get symptoms of anxiety, TMJ syndrome, and PMS under control. I am particularly passionate about helping people with emotional health (stress, anxiety, and depression), menstrual and hormonal health, and rejuvenating cosmetic treatments.
My husband Ben and I just bought our first home in Linden Hills, and I love coming out to Waconia! Outside of the clinic, I enjoy family and friend time, skiing, travelling, preparing nourishing meals and constantly figuring out ways to be healthier and happier.
